The Auxiliary Radio Communication System (ARCS)

Marconi Technology has a complete line up of Auxiliary Radio Communication Systems (ARCS) that are FDNY and NFPA Approved.

What Is ARCS?

Auxiliary Radio Communication Systems (ARCS) are two-way emergency radio networks. These systems are installed in high-rise buildings for use by the fire department during an active emergency.
The Auxiliary Radio Communication Systems (ARCS) system is designed and operates to receive and transmit the NYC FDNY portable radio signals throughout the building – enabling their radio communication to operate without fail in the event of an emergency.
The way our systems are designed, is that it is fireproof, that even in the event of a power failure/outage and/or a disconnection of the telecommunication power, the Auxiliary Radio Communication Systems (ARCS) will continue to operate and assist the Fire Department personnel to continue with their vital operations and keep up constant communication between each other.

Auxiliary Radio Communication Systems (ARCS) Operate Continuously, even during power outages, and their main purpose is to assist communication via NYC FDNY radio. The system ensures radio communication is available at all times.

What Properties Require ARCS?
Under the 2014 NYC Building Code, the City of New York (NYC) requires all new construction high-rise buildings (i.e. taller than 75 feet) to install and maintain an Auxiliary Radio Communication System – ARCS, in any of the five boroughs.
This particular in-building radio communications implementation is known as a NYC FDNY Auxiliary Radio Communication System, or known in short as – ARCS.

New York City: Current building codes mandate all high-rise buildings in New York City to be able to connect with the FDNY using an Auxiliary Radio Communication System (ARCS), to give the the New York City Fire Department full radio communication throughout the building.

BDA Bidirectional Amplifier DAS

The Marconi BDA / ERCS System

The MT-321N – Bi-Directional Amplification unit (BDA) is a NEMA 4 rated cabinet that houses all the components of the BDA System. This includes a configurable .5 to 2 watt amplifier, power supply, sealed lead acid batteries and data acquisition and monitoring unit. This system requires a 110V 20A direct line, and connects directly to the Remote annunciator (CMD-1) with a single CAT 5 cable.

NEW! The Marconi 'New Rochelle Fire Department' BDA/ERCS

The NR-911V Emergency Radio Communication System (ERCS) is a NEMA 4 rated cabinet that houses the key components of the (NRFD) New Rochelle Fire Department Emergency Radio Communications System. This includes 2 Mobile Radios, combiner/duplexer, power supply, sealed lead acid batteries, and data acquisition and monitoring unit. This system requires a 110V 20A direct line with a dedicated service switch.
